Spontaneous Abortion

Have you ever asked God for something and he gives it to you, but not in the way that you expected? Because of the way he gave it to you, you don’t know what to do with it when it comes. Has he ever given you an answer, but not all of the answer, lol! It’s an awkward space to live in. Some refer to this space as the wilderness. You have your faith, and you trust in God, and you believe he’s going to help you see your way through, but the fact that you don’t know when or how has got your mind playing ping pong with ideas. It’s like the process of pregnancy without a due date, like being locked in a cell, and you get word that you’re getting out, but nobody will tell you when. So every day you wake up hopeful, wondering if today is the day, and disappointed when you realize it’s not.

God gives you this idea to birth, or he reveals your purpose, but you don’t know when or how this thing is going to come into existence. So every day you’re soul searching, maybe this is the way, no, well maybe it wasn’t this, but it’s that, and no matter what you come up with, it seems to not be the answer yet, just when you want to throw your hands up, something inside of you says don’t give up.

In the medical field, a miscarriage is sometimes referred to as a “spontaneous abortion.” It’s a pregnancy in which they discover the fetus cannot survive, or the fetus is born before 20 weeks of pregnancy. If we don’t handle our promise carefully, we risk a spontaneous abortion. Oftentimes, we get so anxious with pressure that we end up going into labor early, and in this case. If our promise actually does survive at all, it’s premature. So now we’ve forced our promise to come before its time. Before it was ready, before we were ready, and we didn’t consider all the possible complications that come with that. Now our promise is here, but we can’t touch it, we can’t take it home. We can only see it through an incubator because we have gotten involved in something that we were only ordered to nurture, not to birth. We asked God for something, but we didn’t expect the process or “the terms of the conditions” if indeed he actually gave us what we asked for. As I am going through this season myself. I am encouraged by 2 Peter 3:9 NLT The Lord isn’t really being slow about his promise, as some people think. No, he is being patient for our sake…..
